Proverbs 31
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes covering for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sell them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praises at the city gate.

Let's Go Back to Basic
"What is Islam ? Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith." This explanation is as simple as it gets for the World to understand us, Muslims and our true beliefs. Like me, I am sure that you will also agree that Cruelty, Killing, Hatred and etc., are teachings that are never taught in any religion. The existing wars and hatreds among the humankind is merely the misinterpretation of these teachings by the extremists. May GOD leads them to the right path again! Ameen.

Life to Simple and Too Short
This month seems not to be doing well for me. It does not directly hit me, more of receiving "unfavourable" news from good friends, family and colleagues. Early of the month, received news that one of my good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. Still single but a filial daughter. Her life is her mom and she spends too much less time on herself. Diagnosed came as a surprise and she had to make a fast decision so that her current condition does not disrupt the other members' of the family's life cycle.

Top 10 Simple Tricks To Exercise Your Brain
<Extracted from www.about.com>
Our brain's fitness depends on how much it is used and each time we do something new or different, we create new neural pathways. These simple tricks will help give our brain simple workout.
1. Use Your Opposite Hand
Spend the day doing things with your non-dominant hand. If you are left-handed, open doors with your right hand. If you are right-handed, try using your keys with your left. This simple task will cause your brain to lay down some new pathways and rethink daily tasks. Wear your watch on the opposite hand to remind you to switch.
2. Only Use Lists as Backup
Lists are great, but we can become too reliant on them. Make your grocery list, but then try to shop without it. Use the list once you have put every item you can think of in your cart. Do the same with your "to do" lists.
3. Learn Phone Numbers
Our modern phones remember every number that calls them. No one memorizes phone numbers anymore, but it is a great memory skills. Learn a new phone number every day.
4. Prepare One Story Every Day
Each morning think up one story that you will have ready to tell people. The story can be about something recent or from your past. Try to figure out the most entertaining way to tell the story. If someone calls or stops by, you will have something to talk with them about. It will make you more interesting while exercising your memory.
5. Observation Games
Each day pick a specific thing to observe. You may decide to pay attention to what people are wearing one day. Everywhere you go, and on TV, note how people dress and think about why certain people dress the way they do. Give your brain something to think about. The next day, choose something else to observe.
6. Go a Different Way
Drive or walk a different way to wherever you go. This little change in routine helps the brain practice spacial memory and directions. Try different side streets; go through stores in a different order -- anything to change your route.
7. Break the Routine
Do thing in a different order. Eat breakfast for dinner. Do your errands first thing in the morning. Drink coffee in the afternoon. Do your daily tasks in a new order. Notice how the change feels and what is good or bad about the new order.
8. Solve a Problem
Pretend you are starting a business and think about how you would solve a problem. What would you sell and to whom would you sell it? Who are your competitors and how would you beat them? Give your brain something to chew on. The next day, pretend your are starting an organization to fight hunger -- what new ideas can you come up with? Have fun with problem solving to make new connections in the brain.
9. Make Lists
Lists are wonderful. Making lists helps us to associate items with one another. Make a list of all the places you have travelled. Make a list of the most disgusting foods you have eaten. Make a list of the best presents you have been given. Make one list every day to jog your memory and make new connections.
10. Read a Book
Pick a book on an entirely new subject. Read a novel set in India. Learn about economics. There are many excellent popular non-fiction books that do a great job entertaining you while teaching about a subject. Become an expert in something new each week.
Why, why, why??
- Shocked over hubby molesting own daughter reported in theStar Online on Thursday 15May2008
- Four-year-old raped by dad reported in theStar Online on Thursday 15May2008
It often irks me when I read such morbid news in the papers or over the net! What happened? Where is the strong figure in the family that protects them from harm, ill, threats and enemies? My God! these children are still babies, I still couldn't figure out, how these fathers became monsters, demons and Satan in their own homes. If these men can do such heinous acts on their own flesh and blood, it makes parents like me become more paranoid and have mistrust to anyone and everyone when it comes to our children's safety!

Nothing irks me than reading such morbid headlines in the newspapers. Aren't fathers suppose to be protecting their family (wife, daughters and sons) from any harm, threats and enemies? I wonder, what sort of pleasure do these men achieved in being the demons and satans even in their own home. I cannot imagined the trauma, fright and lost of faith in human kindness these children have lost in this world. Due to such happenings world wide, I believe, parents like me have lost faith in humanity and have distrust in evey human being and become paranoia when it come to the safety of our children! For goodness sake, these children are only babies!

Poligamy - A dream of every MAN
Had a good lunch with a bunch of my wonderful old friends today. One of them shared a story that he wasn't able to share with his wife. He met a friend for dinner one night. His friend is a man of high stature and doing very well in all aspect of health, wealth and so on. This guy has 3 "legal" wives (which is allowed under the law of the Islam). On one ocassion, his 3 wives accompanied him to a dinner on a same night. This seems to amaze his male friends and they wonder how he managed to so called "control the situation". You see when men get together, they try to boast their ego which such tell-tale stories, I just amazed me that most guys would even envy this "poligamist" rather than sympathizing with his lifestyle having to please 3 additional persons (excluding his children) and not himself. For I am sure these smart ladies (intellectual individual I'm told) would demand full rights and equality in everything, especially when it comes to sharing of wealth!

Happy Mother's Day
A friend of mine sent me this lovely picture and I thought I share it with you to celebrate the soulfulness of "Mother's Day".
Mind you, this not a painting but a handicraft from the Middle East.
